Land van Oranje / Madurodam

Graphic design for the exhibition Land van Oranje (Land of orange) in Madurodam, Den Hague.
The exhibition was assembled on the occasion of Madurodam’s 50th anniversary. Showing numerous exhibits of the Dutch Royal family’ – after all in 1952, the mini-state was opened by the then 14-year-old ‘mayor’ Princess Beatrix – the exhibition centered around 13 different but typical Dutch themes, such as Calvinism, thrift and broad-mindness for example. All imagery and lettering followed the distinct grid of the spatial concept which was set to emphazise the highly planological character that always formed and up till now is giving shape to The Netherlands.
