Twee buren, twee culturen / bookcover Prometheus

Illustration and cover design for Twee buren, twee culturen (Two neighbors, two cultures) by H. W. von der Dunk, essays on the relationship between the Dutch and the German culture.
Germany as the great neighbour has always had a special meaning for The Netherlands; forty years since the countries are close European allies. In spite of the many relations and related historical backgrounds, however, they have a very different political culture and mentality. The Netherlands remains highly mesmerized by the trauma of Nazi occupation. For postwar Germany the past also plays an exceptional role.
‘Two neighbours, two cultures’ is a collection of essays to shed light on both the German past and how it affects the Germany of today, and on the peculiarities of Dutch culture, which often correlate with, and are a reaction on the history of the neighbour. (Blurb)
