Book cover design for the roman De Duchamp-code, published by Uitgeverij IJzer.
The novel follows Belgian painter Louis Gabriëls as he gets caught up in the mysterious world of Marcel Duchamp. Art history, playful puzzles, and hidden passions blend together in a story that’s as thought-provoking and informative as it is philosophical and politically reflective, exploring the fine line between reality and imagination.

PROTOTYPE HUMUS – !5 YEARS OF KAAITHEATER

Prototype of the book Humus, concepted by slaws as a refined file folder archiving fifteen years of Kaaitheater’s texts and images, with chapters unfolding through tabs and fold-outs. Both client and publisher were initially enthusiastic about this bold format, but commercial considerations later led to a more conventional hardcover design with fewer paper types and simplified production. A classic case where unconventional ideas meet conservatism.

Design for the book Ontwerpen voor de onmogelijke stad compiled by Rene Boomkens, a Dutch cultural philosopher.
The opinion of planners, architects, urban designers and administrators about the future of our cities is often-heard. In this collection of eleven essays others get the say on the matter: writers, poets, philosophers and such. It focuses on story telling and reflection, photography on reference pages comes second. Various aspects of urban life are widely explored around the core questions: what is the city, and does it still exists? A read worthwhile for everyone who takes in one way or another interest in our cities. Though the language sometimes is interspersed with difficult words, the stories are vigorous and intriguing. Nature, too, should live its own life. We should resist the temptation to disrupt it with the color of our houses and interior fittings. Yet we should attempt to bring nature, houses, and human beings together in a higher unity.
